Allan Hawco Partner Carolyn Stokes Is In Journalism
Allan Hawco wife Carolyn Stokes works as the host of CBC News: Here & Now Late Night. The couple got married in 2011.
Carolyn has a bachelor's degree in Arts, an English major, and a Business minor from Memorial University. She was born and brought up in Mount Pearl, Newfoundland.
After graduating, she started her career as an arts reporter at The Newfoundland Herald and a video journalist on NTV.
Stokes joined CBC in 2011 as a reporter and gradually got promoted to Here & Now Saturday and CBC News: Here & Now Late Night co-anchor.
Carolyn also has her hands in acting; she has one credit as an actor in her IMDB profile. She portrayed the reporter role in the TV series the Republic of Doyle.
In an interview with CBC News, she shared that curiosity is her daily inspiration as a journalist. She is grateful to the people of Newfoundland and Labrador for being willing to share their stories.
She bagged an Atlantic Journalism Award for arts and entertainment writing in 2003.
Apart from journalism, she is also a beekeeper; she harvests honey from her bee hive in the backyard. In 2019, she discovered a comb of bees living on the top floor and shifted them to a hive.
